Ollie knows his shit with boards, I didn’t really know what I wanted – just that I wanted to try a mid length that would fit in the car after years of surfing a 5’5 hypto. It took a bit to get used to the extra volume and how to navigate it but after a few sessions in waist to chest high clean surf I can really appreciate just how much better it is for those waves.

I plonked in an Al knost fin, I haven’t played too much with fin placement yet as I get enough usability out of the board just shuffling up and down and doing cheater fives. 

Altogether it trims beautifully, controllable entirely based on where I’m stood, and speed comes through this too.

Ollie recently shaped me a twinny which is one of the best boards I’ve surfed. He has a wealth of knowledge regarding board shapes and characteristics and was able to steer me through the design process, adding tweaks to the shape I wanted to reflect my surfing. Ollie can literally make any design under the sun and it is totally customised to your wants and needs.

Hands down the best board I’ve owned. I could instantly feel the quality.

Moving away from standard shortboards was a difficult decision as I thought I would lose performance. I got the complete opposite, it completely retains the maneuverability and responsiveness of any shortboard. But with all the benefits of a traditional fish. My surfing has improved in all waves the UK has to offer.
